Phoenix, AZ, October 28, 2026 —
Dr. Gary Kirkilas, a pediatric and adolescent medicine physician at Phoenix Children’s Hospital, is sharing advice for parents in Phoenix on mosquito bites in children. The guidance covers prevention, treatment and when a bite may warrant medical attention.
The information provided does not include Kirkilas’s specific recommendations, so it does not detail prevention steps, treatments or signs that should prompt a medical visit. It also does not identify when or where the advice was shared. No direct quotes from Kirkilas were provided.
The distinction between general prevention and care for an existing bite is central to the topic. Kirkilas’s advice is described as addressing both, as well as helping parents understand when to seek medical attention. However, without the specific guidance, parents cannot determine from the information available what actions he recommends or what circumstances he considers urgent.
The summary also does not describe any particular cases, reported complications, or changes to medical guidance. It provides no statistics about mosquito bites or related illnesses, and does not identify a specific mosquito season or neighborhood in Phoenix. Those details should not be inferred from the fact that the advice is directed to parents in the city.
Kirkilas’s role at Phoenix Children’s Hospital and the subject of his advice are identified, but further details about the recommendations were not provided. The available information therefore establishes the focus of the guidance without supplying the practical steps or medical criteria covered in it.
